I am still alive y'all

Hello my wonderful bloggy friends. Just stopping in to let everyone know that I have not quit blogging. I have been very busy with various things lately and just have not been able to get a blog together. I feel a blog post should have pictures to accompany it and I haven't been able to get pictures and words to come to me. So I guess this one will be without pictures.

First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you for your wonderful comments on my last post. I was so sad! I normally don't like to post such sad posts but I had to get my emotions out there. Your comments let me know how many compassionate people read my blog. I am thankful for all of your comments on every post. Please keep reading and keep commenting. The comments make my day.

I have been so busy lately. The morning after posting my last blog entry, I woke up with a fever, sore throat, just not feeling well at all. I was sick for a whole week! I was also having some other health problems that needed to be addressed at the time and was EXTREMELY stressed out. I have also been busy attending various school programs. It is so wonderful to see the things the different classes and grades put together. I have also been planning and getting my garden ready to plant. I don't do traditional plow the ground gardening, I do square foot gardening. Info about it can be found here. Basically you plant in raised beds filled with a wonderful garden mixture than plowing the ground and planting in rows. I have gotten wonderful results so far and I will do a blog post and update posts once things get going.

I have also been reading and crocheting whenever I catch a chance. I am still working on my son Eddie's blanket and I am making another lapghan for the living room. Oh and I am crocheting 6 inch squares for Share A Square. As for reading, I have been enjoying several books my daughters were given and I have been venturing to the library and checking out books from there. I enjoy reading suspense novels and christian novels. I love Jeanette Oke and Beverly Lewis. I love reading books about Amish life.

I have been sewing a bit with my sewing machine too. I made curtains for my son's room, dining room, and living room out of some old king size bedsheets. I have enjoyed tinkering around with it a bit and I am hoping to be able to try some summer dress patterns for my girls and myself.

Also, I have been working on my genealogy as well. My cousin and I have been trying to trace my maternal grandfather's lineage for a long time now and we keep hitting snags. Dates not adding up, new records. It has been a mess. On top of that I am trying to find my paternal grandparent's lineages.
It is very time consuming and I have learned to be very observant and patient. Things aren't always as they seem.

Other than all of that I have been being mom and wife. Completing my usual daily duties of cleaning, cooking, playing you know all of that stuff. I live a full life and I could not be happier. My hubby is still the best person ever to be in my life (other than my kids). He is the only  person who has ever truly believed in me and has ever been supportive of me. I know that is sad to say but you would have to know my family. I swear sometimes I have been adopted. LOL.

Well I have rambled enough. I promise I will get on the ball and get some good posts going for all of you. Thank you for stopping by and continuing to follow my blog. I love you all!

Until next time......Be Blessed.

  1. Dear Erin, I was glad to see you had a new post! I have been asking hubby to do some raised beds for a few years now, hopefully he will do it this summer. I looked at that garden box blog, thanks for sharing. Good luck on the genealogy - I belong to the Daughters of the American Revolution but my sister did all the gen. work to get us in. Fun to know who your ancestors are!

    Hugs from Oregon.. Teresa
